Albert Weimerskirch

Albert Weimerskirch, 97, of Barrett, died Friday, April 27, 2012, at Prairie Ridge Hospital in Elbow Lake. Memorial service: 11:00 am Tuesday, May 1, 2012, St. Olaf's Catholic Church, Elbow Lake Clergy: Fr. Ron Schmelzer Burial: St. Loretto's Catholic Cemetery, Elbow Lake Visitation: one hour prior to the service Albert was born on March 15, 1915, in Belgrade, Minnesota, to Nicholas and Rosa (Singsank) Weimerskirch. He grew up and attended country school near Belgrade until the age when he could help on the farm. Later, during WWII, Albert served our country in the Army, spending most of his time in Italy and Africa. On June 12, 1946 he was united in marriage to Theolyn Henrietta Storkamp at the St. Cloud Cathedral. Shortly thereafter, they bought a farm near Norcross where Albert farmed and ran a dairy operation for over 30 years before retiring to Elbow Lake and then moving to the Barrett Care Center in 2010. His first love was farming, but baseball ran a close second. He was an avid Minnesota Twins and St. Louis Cardinals fan. Albert and Theolyn were members of St. Olaf's Catholic Church in Elbow Lake. He is survived by daughters Dianne (Arlyn) Lamb of Farmington, Minnesota, and Carol (Bob) Hanken of Jamestown, North Dakota: grandchildren Tanya (Brian) Strese, Katie O'Meara, Gannon (Kristine Smith) O'Meara, and Carin (Dave) Worrell; great-grandchildren Logan and Allie Worrell, Emma Hust-O'Meara, and Desirae Strese; brother Reynold of Kingman, Arizona; son-in-law Patrick O'Meara and friend Nancy Larson. Albert was preceded in death by his wife Theolyn; parents Nicholas and Rosa Weimerskirch; brothers Henry, Leo, Eugene, Louis, Julius, and Edwin; sisters Emma (Joe) Uphus, Loretta (Tony) Goerdt, Ann (Isaac) Ricks, Sylvia (Ed) Schramel, and Rose (Joe) Schoenberg; and Ryan Hust, fiancée of Katie O'Meara.
