Arthur Moeller, 87, of Ashby, died Wednesday, May 13, 2009, at his home. Arthur was born December 21, 1921, to Ferdinand and Emma (Kruse) Moeller in a farmhouse at Magnolia, Minnesota. Arthur grew up on farms in Iowa and Minnesota with his sisters Anna, Esther, and Frances. When Arthur was 20 years old, he lost his parents in a car accident. Art continued to farm and married his sweetheart Adeline Zoeller on December 12, 1943, at Holland, Minnesota. Arthur was soon drafted to serve in World War II. In September of 1946, he was discharged and rejoined his family at Luverne, Minnesota. Art and Addie farmed for about a year at Elkton, Minnesota, before moving to Norcross, Minnesota. They farmed there until 1955, when a tornado took all their buildings except their house. They then moved to a farm by Melby, Minnesota. During this time, Art periodically worked in the iron mines in northern Minnesota. In 1966 Art and Addie quit farming and moved to Ashby, Minnesota. In 1963, Art joined the Furst McNess Company, ultimately becoming a Field Manager with the company. He won many awards and trips that he and Addie both enjoyed. Art retired in 1982 due to his problems with Rheumatoid Arthritis. Art will be lovingly remembered by his beloved wife Addie and their three children Larry Moeller (Linda) of Dent, Minnesota, Rose Daun (Moeller) Olson (Gordon) of Horace, North Dakota, and Lonny Moeller (Crystal) of Hebo, Oregon; by his grandchildren Traci (Moeller) Klemish (Gary) of Randall, Minnesota, Troy Moeller (Karen) of Maple Plain, Minnesota, Heather Olson of Howard Lake, Minnesota, Arrick Olson (Shelby Murphy) of Fargo, North Dakota, Leif Olson of Horace, North Dakota, Hans Moeller, Andreas Moeller, and Annaliese Moeller of Hebo, Oregon; by his great-grandchildren Amber, Brittani, and Joshua Klemish of Randall, Kaily Moeller of Maple Plain, Evelyn, Aletta, and Everett Olson of Fargo, Ava Bernstein of Horace; and one sister, Frances Ohlenkamp of Las Vegas, Nevada. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Anna and Esther. Art's loves were his beautiful wife Addie, his family, fishing, hunting, playing cards, singing and dancing, and making people laugh. He enjoyed people and loved to visit. Art will be greatly missed by all who knew him. The Memorial and Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, May 23, 2009, at the Christ Lutheran Church in Elbow Lake with the Rev. Donald Wagner officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Family will greet friends at the Glende-Nilson Funeral Home in Ashby on Friday, May 22, beginning at 5:00 pm, with a prayer service beginning at 6 pm.
