Carlton Kvamme

Carlton Kvamme, age 82, passed away Monday, April 6, 2015 at his home in Elbow Lake under the care of Knute Nelson Hospice. Carlton Stanley Kvamme was born October 5, 1932 to Ludvig & Olga (Haarstad) Kvamme in Hawley, Minnesota. He was baptized, confirmed and attended country school in Hawley. He attended South High School in Minneapolis, MN. On June 27, 1970, Carlton married Kathy Torkelson in South Dakota. To this couple's union brought a son, Michael Kvamme. Carlton worked driving truck for Northwestern Bell for 36 years, retiring in 1986.
He cherished time with family and friends. He enjoyed camping, fishing, old cars and John Deer Tractors. He could spend many hours tinkering on things, and was always a handy guy to have around.
Carlton is survived by his wife, Kathy of Elbow Lake; children, Debbie Nalezny, White Bear Lake, MN, Denise Kvamme, Hudson, WI, Darrell (Patty) Kvamme, St. Michael, MN, Dar (Jim Marshall) Billman, Minnetonka, MN, Deanna (Brad Leitch) Nelson, Fergus Falls, MN, Michael (Brenda) Kvamme, Cottage Grove, MN; step daughter, Mary Jo Ronn, Minnetrista, MN; brother,
Kermit (Grace) Kvamme, Fergus Falls; 21 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Carlton was preceded in death by his parents, Ludvig & Olga; twin brother, Carroll; sisters, Lillian Holland, Reno Paulson, and Stella Ann Swiggum.
