Carol Beckman, 88, of Wendell, passed away Friday, February 12, 2016, at Prairie Ridge Hospital in Elbow Lake. Carol was born December 24, 1927, to Norman and Florence (Pippenhagen) Schinkel in Anoka, MN. She graduated high school and then worked in a munitions plant in California during World War II. After returning to Minnesota, she met and married Lawrence "Pites" Beckman on December 10, 1945. They raised three children, living in the same home most of their years. Gardening and flowers were Carols passion – she had a very green thumb. Later in life, her companion was Pepe, a black cat that will be buried with her. She is survived by two sons, Dennis (Linda) Beckman and Keith (Debra) Beckman, both of Wendell; grandchildren, Brian (Alisa), Tracy, Cara (Jeremy), Jinny (Russell), Rory (Samantha); great-grandchildren, Tristan, Dylan, Luke, Madison, Aubrie, Payton, Lily, and Ella. In addition to her parents, Carol is preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence "Pites" in 2005; daughter, Deborah Riske; and siblings, Melvin, Marlys, Elroy and Wendell. Funeral Service: 2:00 PM Saturday, February 20, 2016, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Wendell, with visitation one hour prior to services at the church. Clergy: Rev.
