Catalina Gylsen

Catalina Gylsen, 87 of Hoffman passed away Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at the Hoffman Senior Living.

Catalina Gylsen Orteza was born on November 24, 1934, in Sinail ilocos Sur Phillipines, the daughter of Juan and Maria Salcedo Orteza. Catalina lived in the Phillipines before moving to New York. She later spent time living in Canada before moving to the Hoffman area. She worked many years at the Hoffman Good Samaritan.

She married Frank Gylsen and was a devout catholic always doing her best to make it to Mass. Catalina had a big heart and would help her family and friends any chance she could. She enjoyed flowers and her garden.

Catalina was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Frank Gylsen.  She is survived by numerous nieces, family and a host of friends.

Mass of Christian Burial: 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, December 14, 2021, at Our Lady of The Runestone Catholic Church in Kensington, with a visitation one hour prior to the service at the church.

Clergy: Fr. Jeremy Ploof

Interment: Rose Hill Cemetery, Holmes City, Minnesota
