Chad Weaver, 42, Elbow Lake, died Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2012, at his home. Chad Lee Weaver was born on February 14, 1970, in Mohall, North Dakota, to James and Diane (Van Berkom) Weaver. He was baptized at home along with his sister Stacy and his father on November 12, 1972. Chad was confirmed at United Lutheran Church on April 28, 1985, and graduated from West Central High School in 1988. During high school, he enjoyed playing football as well as wrestling. His first job was working for area farmers after school and in the summer. Following high school, Chad spent a year in Montana as a fire fighter. He then went to North Carolina where he spent a couple of years as a carpenter. Although he enjoyed his time in North Carolina and had many stories to tell about the people he met, he missed Minnesota and the changing seasons. So he came home and worked for CI Construction for a while and then joined Steve Olson doing remodeling and carpentry. Chad then went to Texas for a couple of years where he worked for a framing company. Once again, he missed his family and friends and came back to Minnesota where he worked in construction with Nick Bevins and Jason Muchow. He continued as a carpenter and helping his parents in their business until his death. In 1997, his beautiful daughter Marissa was born; they had their most memorable times taking in the Minnesota State Fair. Chad enjoyed hunting, fishing, movies and cooking. He was quick with a laugh and always had a story or joke to share. Chad enjoyed meeting people. He is survived by his daughter Marissa, his parents Jim and Diane Weaver, his sister Stacy; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Chad was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents, his uncle Mark, and his godfather Arlo Huseth.
