Darwin Sylskar, 39, of Shakopee, died Tuesday, November 30, 2010. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, December 4, 2010, at First Lutheran Church in Kensington with the Rev. Barbara Chapman officiating. Family will greet friends at the church one hour before the service.
Darwin Roy Sylskar was born February 22, 1971, at Greenbush, Minnesota, to Willard and Rose Mary (Blazejewski) Sylskar. He attended grade school at Karlstad, Minnesota, and graduated from Hoffman-Kensington High School in May of 1989. He began attending Moorhead State College and transferred to the Fergus Falls Community College. Darwin's high school and college days were filled not only with classes but also his love of playing football. After graduation, Darwin worked for Morris Blacktop, and then went to work for EJ Manufacturing in Shakopee, where he resided until his death.
In September 1999, Darwin was united in marriage to Sue Boloer and became a wonderful step-dad to Sue's two daughters; they were divorced two years later.
Darwin loved the outdoors, enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, boating, golf and tennis; he also enjoyed playing poker and various board games. Darwin was an avid Minnesota Vikings and Twins fan.
He was preceded in death by his father Willard Sylskar and step-father Carl Wilson.
Survivors include his mother Rose Wilson; siblings Jeff Sylskar, Denise (Sylskar) Beito, Robert Sylskar, and Brian (Carol Christopherson) Sylskar; significant friend Fritz; step-daughters Terran and Brittny Boloer and step-grandson Michael Boloer; many nieces and nephews and two great-nephews.
