Dean Bonrud

Dean Bonrud, 66, Plymouth, died Wednesday, July 15, 2009, at his home. Friends may call at the Erickson-Smith Funeral Home in Elbow Lake from 2-4 pm on Tuesday, July 21, 2009. A graveside service will be conducted at 4:30 at the Union Cemetery, Elbow Lake, with Pastor Bob Toso officiating. Dean Carlton Bonrud was born on March 10, 1943, in Elbow Lake to Carlton "Carpy" and Ivadell "Ivy" (Fjosne) Bonrud. He attended and graduated from the Elbow Lake Public School and continued his education at the St. Cloud State. Dean was a sales representative for Munsingwear for eighteen years, after which he began as a stock broker for Dean Witter Reynolds. Dean was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, trap shooting, golf, snowmobiling, snow and water skiing and was a strong supporter of the Minnesota Gophers, Vikings and the Timberwolves. Survivors include his children Reid (Ami) Bonrud of Wendell and Stacy (Steve) Chojnacki of Wheaton, Illinois, and his grandchildren Alexis, Sara, Emma, Robby and Kelly. Dean was preceded in death by his parents Carpy and Ivy Bonrud.
