Deloyd was born December 3, 1933. He grew up in Urness Township on the family farm. He was confirmed at Our Savior's Lutheran Church. He graduated from Evansville High school in 1952. After graduating, he farmed south of Evansville for many years. Deloyd married Lorraine Anderson on November 9, 1951. They raised their two children, Donn and Julie on the farm south of Evansville. Deloyd and his brother, Arlynn owned the Johnson Implement Dealership. Lorraine died in 1978. In January of 1981 Deloyd married Mary Anderson and drove truck for local implement dealers. On July 6, 1991 he married Valerie Ricks. They resided together on Pomme-de-Terre Lake for 23 years. They enjoyed polka dancing on weekends and their trips to Høstfest in Minot. Deloyd and Valerie truly traveled the nation together with some highlighted trips to Seattle, Vancouver, North Carolina and their Alaskan trip of a life time that they both held very dear to their hearts. Deloyd always had the best jokes to share with everyone he came in contact with. His jokes are remembered to this day. He was proud of winning the blue ribbon at the Minnesota State Fair in the early 1950's with his prized pig. He thoroughly loved fishing for Northern Pike with his red-eye lures and numerous hunting trips with close friends and dear family. When not traveling, he enjoyed his daily serving of Schwan's Maple Nut ice-cream and could be found restoring John-Deere and Allis Chalmers tractors. He looked forward to driving them in any parade! Deloyd loved good music and will be remembered forever through the classic songs that we still hear on the radio today.
