Donna (Mrs. Norlin) Bordson, age 78, of Elbow Lake, died Sunday, August 09, 2009, at the St. Cloud Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 on Friday , August 14, 2009, at Christ Lutheran Church in Elbow Lake with Pastor Don Wagner officiating. Burial will be in the Christ Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call at the Erickson-Smith Funeral Home in Elbow Lake, from 6-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 13, 2009, and at the church one hour prior to the service. Donna Jean was born August 16, 1930. She was the daughter of Henry and Amelia Wiese. She was confirmed on April 2, 1944, in the Christ Lutheran Church, Elbow Lake. Donna attended the Lonestar School, District 37, in Pomme de Terre Township. As a young girl, Donna enjoyed helping out on the farm, playing games with her brother Harold, and taking care of animals; she was an active member of 4-H. After graduating from high school, she worked at the Elbow Lake Clinic for Doctor Vernon Doms. On July 29, 1950, Donna was united in marriage to the love of her life, Norlin Joseph Bordson, at the Christ Lutheran Church parsonage in Elbow Lake. To this union, four children were born, and Donna began raising her children in the Christian faith, being a wonderfu, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She dedicated her life to being a care-giver, taking care of her parents in their later years. Her time spent with her family was priceless to her; she was loved and appreciated by her family and friends and will be greatly missed. Her memories will be treasured in their hearts forever. Donna loved spending time in her garden and caring for her beautiful flowers, cooking (no one left her home hungry!), playng cards with friends and grandchildren, and watching sporting events. If there was a Twin's game on TV, she would be in her favorite chair watching with her cat Benji by her side. She was an active member of Christ Lutheran Church of Elbow Lake all of her life. Survivors include daughters Carol (Dan) Erickson of Elbow Lake, and Connie (Robert) Randall of Wichita KS; and a son, Dwight (Donna) Bordson of Hutchinson MN; twelve grandchildren: Jason, Jered, and Josh (Dana) Anderson; Lucas (Heidi), Stefanie, Tanner, and Nicole Randall; Jennah, Blake, Grant, Grace, and Cale Bordson; and a great-granddaughter Zoe Roder. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter Katherine Bordson; a brother Harold Wiese; and two nephews, Mike and Dwaine Wiese.
