Douglas "Doug" Westrom

Douglas Steven Westrom was born on March 5, 1968 in St Paul, MN.  He was adopted by Waldemar and Marlene Westrom in April 1968. He grew up in Pennock, MN until the family moved to a home on St John’s Lake near Pennock in July 1976. Doug was baptized as an infant at Salem Covenant Church, Pennock and then later as an adult at the Assemblies of God Church, Rochester. He accepted Christ in his elementary years at a children’s event in the park in Pennock. Doug was confirmed at First Covenant Church in Willmar, MN and continued with church activities throughout his life. He attended school in Pennock and Willmar, and graduated from Willmar High School in 1986. He received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in History from Bethel University in 1990. He worked at various jobs in the twin cities. In 1994, he moved to Willmar where he was part of Westrom Realty, Inc. and managed apartment rentals until 2013. Since then he has lived in Rochester, MN until his passing on October 26, 2020.

He is survived by his parents Waldemar and Marlene Westrom of Cottage Grove, MN; sister Dawn Wheeler of Oakdale, MN; nieces Kayla (Steven) Veenstra of Coon Rapids, MN and Alissa (Joel) Lambrides of Fridley, MN; biological mother Arlouene Pickett and several other relatives. He will be greatly missed.
