Eleanor Olson

Eleanor Olson, 97 of Wendell, Minnesota died Saturday, December 21, 2024, at Park Gardens Assisted Living in Fergus Falls, Minnesota. 

Eleanor Elizabeth Olson was born on May 9, 1927, in Tintah, Minnesota the daughter of Joseph and Agnes (Koziol) Keller. She attended rural school through the eighth grade and was then needed to help on the farm. 

On September 28, 1950, Eleanor married Orris Eugene Olson at St. Galls Catholic Church in Tintah. They made their home in Wendell raising their family. Eleanor enjoyed quilting, making one for each grandchild, canning, gardening, and anything outdoors. Her children and grandchildren will remember and miss her pancakes, homemade syrup and chocolate chip cookies. Eleanor’s Catholic faith was very important to her. She was an active member of St. Galls Catholic Church her entire life. The house she lived in was the first settlers’ home in Wendell, with Keith being the fourth generation living in the home. Eleanor was a mother to many while babysitting neighbor kids. For her eighty-eighth birthday, her children gave her a trip to Wisconsin to go sky diving. When she got down, she wanted to go right back up to do it again. 

Eleanor is survived by her children Judy Christopherson of Perham, MN, Don (Vickie) Olson of Wendell, Patty Hanson of Alexandria, Randy (Shelly) Olson of Wendell, JoAnn (Joe) Felland of Elbow Lake, Keith Olson of Wendell, Bob (Tracy) Olson of Montgomery, TX, Gary (Joan) Olson of Bennington, NE, Tami (James) Olson of Alexandria; 34 grandchildren, 75 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren; sisters Mary Carlson of Elbow Lake and Audrey Johnson of Fergus Falls, brothers Edward Keller of Breckenridge and Toby Keller of River Falls, WI, and numerous relatives and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her parents Joe and Agnes Keller; husband Orris Olson; son Billy Olson; grandson Jaron Olson; son-in-law Craig Christopherson; daughter-in-law Becky Olson Fure; sisters Irene Helsene, Tilly Aune, Dorothy Michels, Grace Goergen, Gina Thomas, Rita Lehman, Janice Schellinger; brothers Cyril and Louis Keller.

Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM Friday, December 27, 2024, at St. Galls Catholic Church in Tintah, with visitation one hour prior to the Mass, and a Rosary starting at 10:00 AM.

Interment at St. Galls Catholic Cemetery
