Elloyde Burchill

Elloyde Burchill, 77, Elbow Lake, died Monday, March 24, 2014, at the Barrett Care Center. He was born on May 8, 1936, in Erdahl, Minnesota, the son of Andrew DeLoss and Edna (Evelyn) Johnson. He attended school in Evansville and graduated from Elbow Lake High School, where he played basketball. After graduating, Elloyde attended technical school and received his boiler license. Elloyde went to work at the Elbow Lake Creamery operating the boiler and working also as a tester. On July 9, 1966, Elloyde married Penny Lynn Burau at First Lutheran Church in Elbow Lake. For the majority of his career, Elloyde worked as an agricultural tool salesman. He started with Lesota Tool in Albert Lea, Minnesota, and later worked with TriState Warehouse in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, retiring after forty years. Elloyde went on to work at EnviroTech in Elbow Lake, and most recently, worked for Grant County Recycling. A true outdoorsman, Elloyde enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing and outdoor work. Most mornings he could be found having coffee with the guys at Hans House. Elloyde cherished time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife Penny of Elbow Lake; his son Craig (Michelle) of Clitherall; five grandchildren, Hunter, Kayla, Courtney, Lacey Burchill and A.J. Kvam; his sister Sharon Bouressa of Fergus Falls; two nieces, Dawn Rohr, and Shelley Kudrna; and five nephews, Michael Bouressa, Mark (Andrea) Bouressa, Larry Strom, Kerry Strom and Douglas Strom. In addition to his parents, Elloyde was preceded in death by one sister, Shirley Strom; brothers-in-law Hollis Bouressa and DuWayne Strom; and a niece, Diane Weil.
