Julie L. Pettee,49, of Barrett, died Tuesday, Nov. 24, at the ELEAH Medical Center in Elbow Lake. Memorial service to be held Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2:00 pm, at the Erickson-Smith Funeral Home in Elbow Lake. Family will greet friends at the Funeral Home one hour before the service on Tuesday.
Julie Lyn was born on December 12, 1959, at Brooklyn, New York, to James and Grace (Blackshaw) Carvino. After growing up in New York, she spent a short time in Wisconsin and eventually moved to Minneapolis. There she met her husband Kevin, and together they made their way to Barrett Minnesota. Julie and Kevin married on September 9, 2006, and they started their life together. Julie spent much of her life helping her mother, step-father, enjoying the companionship of her husband Kevin, and her dogs Gracie and Boise. Julie loved the outdoors and enjoyed swimming, hunting, camping, gardening and canning her produce. She will be missed by all who loved her. Julie is survived by her husband and best friend Kevin of Barrett; father James Carvino of Boise ID; sister Stacie Beckers; brother Glenn Carvino of Milwaukee WI; step-children Casey and Charlie Pettee of White Bear Lake; step-sisters Kristy Alman and Lynne Lichtenauer of Minneapolis; step-brother Scott (Jackie) Lichtenauer of Bloomington; a niece Carly Beckers; and a nephew Cameron Beckers. She was preceded in death by her mother Grace Carvino-Lichtenauer, step-father Bob Lichtenauer, and a brother Doug.
