Katharine Canfield

On December 5, 2018, Katharine A. Canfield, 78, of Golden Valley, MN passed into the Kingdom of her Lord Jesus and back into the loving arms of her parents.  Her husband, Gerald J. Canfield was also there to greet her.

She was born March 14, 1940 in Fergus Falls to William K. and Selma G. (Christenson) Weigand.

Kathy was a loving wife, friend and grandma.  She took great pride in her many activities including: Minnetonka Power Squadron, the Coast Guard Auxiliary, ladies circle at Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church, and playing her trumpet with the Calhoun Isles Community Band (for 37 years!), the Eden Prairie Community Band, and the Glockenspeilers as well as spending time with all her “dining out” friends.

She will be missed by her brother, David Weigand of Wendell, her step-children: Jeff (Julie) Canfield of Hartford, SD, Cynthia McDonald of Bloomington, MN and Tamara (Juan) Cornejo of Moreno Valley, CA as well as 17 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren and many loving friends and extended family.

“Go rest high on that mountain, your work on earth is done.”  You will never be forgotten.  Memorials preferred to David Weigand.

Visitation: Friday, December 14, 2018 from 4 to 7 P.M. at the Erickson-Smith Funeral Home in Elbow Lake and for one hour prior to the service.

Funeral Service: Saturday, December 15, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. at the Erickson-Smith Funeral Home in Elbow Lake.
