Kathryn (Kitty) Jo Ann Schneeberger was born on July 15, 1937, to Arthur and Goldie (Susag) Rustand in her childhood home near Wendell, MN. She was born, raised, lived most of her married life and died in that same home on the farm.
She attended Country School in North Ottawa Township before graduating from Elbow Lake High School in 1954. She attended one year of College at Concordia College in Moorhead, MN.
On June 1, 1957, she was united in Marriage to her High School sweetheart, Lorn Schneeberger, at United Methodist Church in Norcross, MN. They lived on a farm outside Barrett before moving to the Rustand Family Homestead in January 1961 where they raised their three children. In 2021 they celebrated their 64th Wedding Anniversary.
She was very involved in the community. She served for many years in numerous organizations including: Christ Lutheran Church, LWML, Ladies Aid, Women’s Study Club, Hereford Cemetery Association, Grant County Republican Committee and campaign manager for Torrey Westrom.
Kitty and Lorn loved life and really enjoyed traveling and spending part of their winters in Arizona. She loved her family and friends and enjoyed spending time with them. She never wanted to miss any activity they were involved in including kids, Grandkids and Great Grandkids. She also loved music and used to play piano, played in the band in High School and sang in the choir in High School and Church. She loved to bake/cook and entertain family and friends in her home. She was very charitable and would do anything for anyone.
On February 14, 2025, she died peacefully in her home and joined the love of her life on Valentine’s Day at the age of 87.
She is survived by her 3 children, Larry (Patty) Schneeberger of Elbow Lake, MN, David (Shawn) Schneeberger of Fergus Falls, MN and Karen (Scott) Dey of Gilbert, AZ; Eight grandchildren, Trevor (Susan Wellendorf) Schneeberger, Dustin (Iris) Schneeberger, Jordan (Amy) Schneeberger, Krisann (Nevada) Miller, Eric (Karma) Schneeberger, Matthew (Becca Hussong) Schneeberger, Kimberly Heywood, Kaylee Dey and 15 Great Grandchildren, Wynn, Colbie, Wessen, Royce, Addy, Ellie, Tucker, Jackson, Jaelynn, Alexis, Grace, Kendal, Harper, Max and Gage; Brother-in-law Eldrin (Sonja) Schneeberger; several nieces and nephews and extended family and friends.
In lieu of flowers the family would prefer donations to Christ Lutheran Church, Lutheran Island Camp or a Charity of your choice.
A Funeral Service will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at Christ Lutheran Church in Elbow Lake with Reverend Bill Aufdenkamp officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
There will be a Spring Interment at Hereford Cemetery, rural Wendell.
