Kristi Huemoeller, 59, of rural Barrett, Minnesota, died Saturday, September 9, 2017, at the Barrett Care Center.
Kristi Lee Huemoeller was born on February 20, 1958, in Madison, Minnesota, the daughter of Elmer Sr. and Artys (Loney) Anderson. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith. Kristi graduated from the Barrett High School in 1976, and then furthered her education in Credit and Finance, for one year with the Alexandria Technical College.
Kristi and Gary Huemoeller were married on September 20, 1980, at Peace Lutheran Church in Barrett. After their marriage, they lived in the Barrett area where she was employed with the Barrett Care Center as a Nursing Assistant, Carroll's General Store, US Post Office, drove school bus for West Central Schools, and then at the Hoffman Senior Center for a number of years. Kristi enjoyed sewing, quilting, embroidery, crafting, cooking, gardening both vegetables and flowers, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was very active in the community and Kristi always made time to volunteer and make items to "Pay it Forward".
She is survived by her husband, Gary; two daughters and families, Teri (Joe) Axness, Odin, Thea, Jens, and Ole of Rothsay, and Tami (Andrew) Weigel of Mahtomedi; siblings, Audrey (Gerhardt) Plessner of Madison, Elmer Jr. (Jeanne) Anderson of Barrett, Joanne Weeding of Gillette, WY., DeWayne Larson of Cyrus, Jeanette (Martin) Steffenson of Hancock, Mary (Ralph) Krentz of Bloomington, Susan (Wally) Heise of Isle, Steven (Becky) Anderson of Villard, Katherine Mittag of Miltona, and Brenda (Michael) Woods of Springfield, MO.; and by numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Kristi was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer Sr. and Artys Anderson; sister, Lorraine Larson and brother-in-law, Richard Mittag.
Memorial Service: 1:00 PM, Saturday, September 16, 2017, at Peace Lutheran Church in Barrett.
Visitation: Two hours prior to the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Hoffman Senior Center, Grant County Humane Society, or the Lake Region Cancer Center.
