Lea Puchalski

Lea Ann Puchalski, age 59 of Barrett, passed away Thursday, September 17, 2015 at Prairie Ridge Hospital in Elbow Lake. Lea Ann Anderson was born August 21, 1956 to Earl and Eileen (Weiland) Anderson in Alexandria, MN. She received her schooling in Ashby, Herman and Barrett, graduating from Barrett High School. She began working at the Barrett Care Center prior to her graduation, and in 1988 she earned her LPN degree and continued working at the Barrett Care Center, a career that spanned over 40 years. On July 27, 1974, she was united in marriage to Terry Puchalski at St. Olaf Catholic Church in Elbow Lake. The couple made their home in Lien Township, near Barrett. Lea's hobbies included gardening, camping, fishing and collecting antiques. She particularly cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren and family. She enjoyed working as a nurse and loved the residents she helped care for. Lea truly appreciated her co-workers. Lea is survived by her husband, Terry; daughters, Tanya (Jody Kruize) Puchalski, and Trista Puchalski, all of Barrett; sisters, Deb (Dean) Gaugler of Blaine, Mary (Dean) Hedstrom of Carlos, Shelly (Tom) Halstensgaard of Breckenridge; brothers, Mike (Keri) Anderson of Bellvue, NE, and Rick Anderson of Waconia; grandchildren, Taylin, Ellyete, Karagan, Kayden and Cobey. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Ruth "Susie" Rhude, and one granddaughter, Grace. Prayer Service: 5PM, Monday, September 21 at Peace Lutheran Church, Barrett with visitation to follow until 7PM Funeral: 11AM, Tuesday, September 22 at Peace Lutheran Church, Barrett Clergy: Reverend Matthew Rose
