Linda Marie Folken passed away peacefully at St. Cloud Hospital on August 22, 2024, at the age of 76 years young surrounded by loved ones. She will be dearly missed. Linda Marie (Jenson) Folken was born November 22, 1947, to Leonard and Bernice Jenson in Fergus Falls, Minnesota. She was the oldest of 4 children. She attended school in Barrett, Minnesota and graduated in 1965. Linda attended Fergus Falls Beauty College after high school where she obtained her cosmetology license.
On August 27, 1966, Linda married Leslie "Butch" Folken. Linda and Butch were married 49 years. They started dating while Butch was already in the Air Force. After they were married, Linda and Butch moved to Minot where he was stationed. While they were in Minot, their son Kris was born. The family returned to Elbow Lake where Linda was a hairstylist for many years at Shear Style and their second son, Brent, was born. She loved being closer to family and friends.
They enjoyed living on Pomme de Terre Lake for years where they hosted many Christmases and other events. Linda loved the Elbow Lake area and community. She was a strong, independent lady who loved her family and friends and loved being in nature with her beloved dogs. She enjoyed being in the garden, traveling, taking walks with her dogs and loved watching the Minnesota Vikings play. She also did some family genealogy and was known as the "go-to" person if there were questions about the family or recipes.
Linda is survived by her son, Brent; siblings, Denice (Tom) Larson, Curt (Lisa) Jenson, Kyle (Janet) Jenson; sister-in-law, Gail (Larry) Stephens; many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Bernice Jenson; husband, Butch; and son, Kris.
Blessed be the name of Linda Marie Folken. May she rest in peace.
Linda’s Memorial Service is set for 11:00 AM Saturday, September 21, 2024, with a visitation one hour prior at United Lutheran Church in Elbow Lake.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Erickson-Smith Funeral Home of Elbow Lake.
