Loren Arthur Lohse was born May 8, 1917, on the Sampson Farm, rural Elbow Lake, Minnesota, to Arthur and Mary (Kritzer) Lohse, the fifth of nine children. He was baptized and confirmed in Hoffman. Loren attended school at District 32 through the sixth grade, leaving school to work on the family farm with his brothers and dad. In 1942, Loren was drafted into the U.S. Army and drove truck during WWII, and was honorably discharged achieving the rank of Sergeant. Following the war, Loren returned to the family farm. In 1949, he moved to Backus, Minnesota, to work as a lumberjack. In 1954, Loren married Minda Rosendahl in International Falls. Minda passed away in 1972. In 1974, Loren met Lillian Jordan and they were married a short time later. Lillian passed away five years later. Loren moved to the Twin Cities where he worked at Carters Plastic. It was while living in the Cities where Loren found his love for wrestling. Sometime later, Loren moved back to Elbow Lake to be closer to family. In April of 2008, he moved to Our Home Your Home in Henning where he resided until his death. Loren was a great role model to all those who were close to him, teaching them how to do things, "his way." Loren loved to garden and do yard work, especially on his John Deere lawn mowers. His interests included woodworking, John Wayne, "Walker Texas Ranger" and WWF Wrestling. He especially enjoyed the time spent with his great nieces and nephews. Loren is survived by two step-sons, Dean and Marlen, both of Michigan; a brother, Ervin (Alva) Lohse of Elbow Lake; three step-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by wives Minda and Lillian; four step-children, Marvin, Lorraine, Richard and Anna Mae; five sisters, Eleanor, Irene, Marge, Alice and Lorna Mae; and two brothers, Donald and Willard "Bud".
