Marlo Nordlund, age 75 of Elbow Lake, passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at his home under the care of Lakeland Hospice.
Marlo was born May 28, 1940 to Amandus and Lilly (Martinson) Nordlund in Kittson County, Minnesota. He grew up and attended school in northern Minnesota. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1957 and was honorably discharged in1961.
On August 24, 1968 he was united in marriage to Darlene Nelson at Peace Lutheran Church in Ashby. The couple made their home in Elbow Lake. Marlo was employed with Cenex in Elbow Lake for 34 years, retiring in 2011.
In his spare time, Marlo enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, camping, dancing and taking care of his yard, both in the summer and winter. He also cherished time spent with family and friends.
Marlo is survived by his wife, Darlene of Elbow Lake; daughters, Brenda Bedard of Tennessee and Cindy Chamberlain of Alabama; sister, Ronae (Wayne) Sele of Minnesota and Texas; along with several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Rickey; a brother in infancy, and one sister, Gloria Shablow.
