Michael Shauer

Michael Shauer, 48, of Hoffman, died suddenly at his home in Hoffman on Thursday, June 27, 2013. A memorial service will be planned by Michael's family for a later date. Michael David Shauer was born June 10, 1965, in Morris, Minnesota,, to Douglas E. and Jean C. (Olson) Shauer. He graduated from the Hoffman-Kensington High School in 1983 and attended Alexandria Technical College for welding. Michael worked in construction for the Hoffman Blacksmith Shop, Thorstad Brothers Tiling, Lawson Construction and Thorstad Tiling Inc. He was an avid hunter, active fisherman and enjoyed his golden retrievers. Michael is survived by his brothers William (Sue Ellen) Shauer of Dover, New Jersey, Alan Shauer of Alexandria and Dave (Michelle) Shauer of Lowry; and two nephews and three nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents Douglas and Jean Shauer.
