Rosalie Olson, 86, of Wendell, passed away at her home on Sunday, January 19, 2014. Rosalie Sylvia Olson was born on May 13, 1927, at Kensington, to Emil and Dora (Nelson) Erickson. She was baptized and confirmed at Nora Lutheran Church in rural Kensington. She grew up in Kensington, graduating from school there in 1945. She then went to Minneapolis for a year where she attended business school. Rosalie moved to Elbow Lake where was employed as one of the first telephone operators. Rosalie was united in marriage to Donovan Olson on December 12, 1958, at Nora Lutheran Church in rural Kensington. The couple made their home in Wendell. Rosalie owned the first 1967 Chevrolet Camaro sold in Elbow Lake. Rosalie enjoyed visiting with people and activities with her children and grandchildren. She was a member of the Wendell VFW Auxiliary and was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, reading the Bible, shopping (especially for her children and grandchildren). She was an avid roller skater—and was quite adept indeed! Rosalie had a good sense of humor and was a classy, stylish lady in a humble way. She was a selfless person who loved God and others. Survivors include two sons, Bruce (Roberta) Strom of Kensington, and Bryan Olson of Wendell; a daughter, Deanne (Larry) Novotny of Alexandria; and five grandchildren, Tawnya Stepaniak, Lindsey Oeltjenbruns, Alan Strom, and Brynn and Toby Novotny. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Donovan, and a sister, Elvira Erickson. Funeral Service: 11 a.m., Friday, January 24, 2014, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Wendell
