Scott Reuben Dalum, 66, of Hoffman, MN, passed away unexpectedly, on Friday, May 29, 2020, at his residence in Hoffman. An outdoor Celebration of Life service will be held on Wednesday, June 10, 2020, 1 p.m. at Messiah Lutheran Church, Hoffman, MN.
Scott was born at Douglas County Hospital, Alexandria, MN, on March 6, 1954, to Reuben and Charlotte (Rossum) Dalum, of Hoffman. He attended Hoffman Public Schools and graduated from Hoffman High School in 1972. He attended Bemidji State University for several years until the death of his father.
Scott greatest accomplishment was the birth of his loving daughter, Ayla, though he never married. Throughout his life, Scott worked a number of jobs. He was employed for many years with the Soo Line Railroad. From there he went on to work several sales jobs in the retail industry. More recently, he served as caretaker for his apartment complex in Hoffman and as janitor at Messiah Lutheran Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents. Scott is survived by his daughter, Ayla Mathre, of Fargo, ND; sister, Sheila Graham, Battle Lake and brother, Steve Dalum of Las Vegas, NV.
