Wally Bullis, age 87 passed away Sunday, September 25, 2016 at Prairie Ridge Hospital in Elbow Lake.
Wallace James Bullis was born on July 16, 1929 in North Ottawa Township to James and Pearle (Cowell) Bullis. He attended District 61 School up until they moved to Wendell, attending there through the eighth grade. At that time he went on to work with his father on the farm.
On June 3, 1950, Wally was united in marriage to the love of his life, Delores Denzel, at Federated Church in Fergus Falls by Pastor Bill VanDyken. They lived by Nashua until 1968 when they moved to rural Elbow Lake. Wally worked for Haley Oil until 1972 when he started Wally's Plumbing & Heating, graciously serving many customers throughout the area.
For twenty years Wally and Delores worked together as custodians for Eagle Bank and West Central Community Action, which they both enjoyed, and were very proud of.
Wally was a "Jack of all Trades". He loved his horses and riding in the Grant County Wagon Train of which he was the Wagon Master. Living on the farm, gardening, tinkering in the shop, and always keeping his lawn mowed, were some of his greatest joys.
He was very proud of all his children and grandchildren, and cherished all the family gatherings at the farm.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the doctors and nurses at Prairie Ridge Hospital for their loving compassionate care to Wally and his family.
Survivors include his loving wife of 66 years, Delores; children, James (Fayanne) Bullis of Miller, MO, Jeffrey (LouAnn) Bullis of Apple Valley, MN, Joe (Sherida) Bullis of Fishtail, MT, Jean Berglund (Bob) of Alexandria, MN, Jana (Wayne) Kewley of Northport, FL, Jon (Laurie) Bullis of Erhard, MN; 11 biological and 5 step grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren; sisters, Joanne VanWechel of Fergus Falls, MN, and Verna Smee of Merced, CA.
