Wesley Mohagen, age 64, of Wendell, unexpectedly passed away on Wednesday, August 21, 2019, at the St. Cloud Hospital.
Wesley Gene Mohagen was born on January 17, 1955, the son of Everett and Valeria (Zimmerman) Mohagen. He was baptized and confirmed at West Elbow Lake Lutheran Church. He graduated from Elbow Lake High School in 1973 and obtained his CDL semi license from Alexandria Technical School. He never married.
Wes had a love for people. He continued Mom and Dad’s tradition of welcoming people into his home. The coffee pot was always plugged in. He met you at the door, and made sure your coffee cup was full and hot, and a cookie to go with it. You didn’t want to leave – but when you did, he would stand outside and wave to you til you were out of site.
Wes drove truck for local farmers. He worked for Cenex Harvest States for over twenty years, then retired. He lived and worked in the Wendell area all his life. He loved the Wendell community.
Wes enjoyed the outdoors. He collected coins and loved to mow lawn, just like his dad, Everett. He hunted every Fall. He liked to play boardgames, and cards with cousins and friends. You always wanted to be Wes’ partner. He liked animals, especially black cats. “Shadow” was his favorite cat companion.
Wes had the heart of a servant. He was always eager to help. His calm spirit and quiet nature were always present. He loved his family. He attended church faithfully and helped with activities as needed. He loved God and knew Him as his Lord and Savior, and now dwells in His glorious presence. Wes will be sadly missed.
Wes is survived by two brothers, Leland (Renate) of Fayetteville, North Carolina and Les of rural Elbow Lake; brother-in-law, Loren Richards; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Karen; an infant brother, Wayne Lee; and two infant nephews, Caleb and Joshua.
